Air Conditioned Units
Air conditioning helps extend the life of all your personal possesions. Storage items
that demand air conditioning are: computer equipment, electronics, leather, candles,
wood furniture, delicate fabrics, pianos, books, pharmaceutical samples and
important documents.

Place Frequently Used And Seasonal Items Near The Door

Fill Boxes To Capacity
Heavy items such as books or tools should be packed in small boxes and placed at the bottom of a stack when possible.  Partially full or bulging boxes may tip or collapse especially if other items are stacked on top of them.

Periodic Unit Visits

Fragile Items
Place fragile boxes at the top of the stack.  Wrap items with packing material i.e bubble wrap, packing peanuts, to insure their safety while in storage.

Label Boxes
Label all boxes and make a list of contents for quick reference.  This will make it much easier when you want to find something specific.

"Dust Covers"
Dust covers are recommended for anything made of cloth or that has upholstery.  Clothing, mattress/box springs, furniture, etc.

Do Not Lean Items Against Walls
Leaning items against walls causes poor ventilation.  Leave a space around the perimeter of the unit as well as a walkway to the back of the unit.  Don’t be afraid to use the height of the unit and stack items.  Take apart any and all items that can be disassembled.  This includes bedframes and table leg
